Means & Ways, a new media platform with a mission to drive conversations at the intersection of business and public policy, is looking for a highly motivated self-starting sales representative to grow our customer base and drive our advertising and promotional campaigns. This is a commission-only role, ideal for those who thrive in a performance-driven environment and want to control their income. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, tracking and fulfilling sales efforts measured against revenue and client targets. The Media Sales Representative will work closely with the editorial team to ensure that advertising and promotional campaigns align with our platform’s editorial focus and existing programs. 

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service and support throughout the sales cycle

  • Identify appropriate prospects and reach out to book meetings

  • Offer Means & Ways advertising and promotional opportunities to media buyers and marketing teams throughout corporate Canada

  • Develop and execute weekly, monthly and quarterly sales strategies

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients 

  • Actively seek out new clients to expand our customer base and nurture relationships

  • Work collaboratively with the editorial team to ensure that new clients and the offerings we develop align with the platform's brand identity and editorial vision

  • Negotiate cross-platform opportunities in the best interest of both the client and Means & Ways

  • Monitor quality of implemented advertising and promotional campaigns to ensure they are executed to the highest standard and meet the client's requirements

  • Develop and maintain a database of advertisers and clients, including contact information and details of previous campaigns

  • Keep up with industry trends and market developments, and use this knowledge to inform sales strategies

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in sales, preferably in media or advertising

  • Proven track record of success

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills

  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

  • Knowledge of advertising and promotional strategies, including digital and social media

  • Ability to work collaboratively with others and build effective partnerships

  • Familiarity with sales and CRM software and tools

  • A results-driven mindset with a focus on achieving targets and driving revenue growth

Start date: Immediate

Compensation is structured as uncapped, commission-based earnings, allowing unlimited potential based on sales volume.
