Candace Laing has been named the new President and CEO of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, Canada’s largest business grouping.

Laing will take the position on Sept. 1, according to a statement from the chamber. She had worked for ten years as an executive at Nutrien, a fertilizer company based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, where she had global responsibility for sustainability strategy and oversaw government and community relations.

"Now more than ever, Canada’s businesses of all sizes need a champion like the Canadian Chamber,’’ Laing said in the statement.

Laing will be replacing Perrin Beatty, who leaves his post on August 30.
