Opinion: Capital gains tax hike is another fulfillment fiasco in the making: Financial Post

In an op-ed for the Financial Post, William Robson, Alexandre Laurin and Nicholas Dahir highlight the lack of details around the government's planned increase in capital gains taxes as the June 25 deadline fast approaches.  To date, there is no draft legislation for the tax change, and the budget implementation bill tabled on May 2 contained no details. With a massive sell-off of assets expected before the deadline, the government is projecting a one-time $7-billion revenue, but the op-ed says the lack of clarity around changes suggests it has not quite figured out how it will all work.
