Bank of Canada undertaking formal review of bond purchase program: Bloomberg

Bloomberg’s Erik Hertzberg reports on the Bank of Canada’s plan to review its so-called quantitative easing policies that led to its purchases of hundreds of billions worth of federal government debt. The central bank plans to release the report by early next year, according to Bloomberg.

The bond purchases had come under intense criticism from Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre, who likened the program to being an ATM for Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
