Canadian border strike averted as tentative deal reached, union says: CP

The Canadian Press is reporting that the union representing Canadian border workers has reached an agreement with the federal government, averting a strike that could have had far-reaching implications on the economy. CP said details of the agreement will be released later this week. More than 9,000 workers were poised to walk off the job on Friday without an agreement.
