Canada building permits rise at quickest pace in four years: Bloomberg

Bloomberg’s Jay Zhao-Murray reports on the latest construction permit figures from Statistics Canada showing that building permits were up by 20.5 per cent in April from the previous month. Outside the pandemic period, that’s the quickest gain since 2009. Residential permits climbed 19.6 per cent, driven by a 32.6 per cent jump in multi-family permits.
