Enbridge Inc., a Canadian energy and distribution company, still hopes to build a major carbon storage hub in Alberta despite the recent decision by Capital Power to cancel its planned $2.4 billion investment in a project associated with the plan. According to a Canadian Press report, Enbridge executive vice-president Colin Gruending called the Capital Power decision “disappointing” but said another carbon capture project in the area is still in the works. The Capital Power project was expected to capture three million tonnes of carbon dioxide a year.
