Negotiations between B.C. port operators and supervisors are at an impasse, raising prospect of further supply disruptions along Canada's West Coast, according to a report by the Globe and Mail's Brent Jang. On Friday, the B.C. Maritime Employers Association filed a complaint with the federal industrial relations board claiming bad-faith bargaining by the province's ship and dock forepersons. The employers say they have proposed a compounded wage increase of 19.2 per cent over four years, which increases the median compensation for forepersons to $293,617 annually, not including benefits and pension.
