Federal corporations now required to file beneficial ownership info with government


In a bid to improve corporate transparency, the federal government has stepped up reporting requirements for companies governed by the Canada Business Corporations Act. The new filing rules now in force will help establish a database of ownership information to better protect the Canadian public’s interests, Industry Minister François-Philippe Champagne said.
