The Associated Press reports that the U.S. Federal Reserve has decided to keep the interest rate steady, even though inflation fell further toward its target. Officials said they expect to cut the rate just once this year, down from a previous forecast of three cuts. The Fed says the U.S. economy is growing at a solid pace and that hiring has remained strong.
