Canada’s big population growth tied to high immigration levels has been blamed for adding to the national housing shortage but as Yahoo Finance Canada reporter Jeff Lagerquist writes, companies ranging from retailers to airlines and telcom giants see opportunities to capitalize on the influx. An Air Canada executive said it creates a “generational structural opportunity” for travellers returning home, doing business trips or visiting friends and family. And companies like Dollarama, Bell and Rogers are also eyeing major opportunities in the “new to Canada” customer base.
