Ontario Premier Doug Ford says Ottawa should impose tariffs on EV vehicles from China

Ontario Premier Doug Ford says Prime Minister Justin Trudeau should follow the U.S. lead and match tariffs on electric vehicles from China, CTV News reported.

Ford called on the federal government to impose tariffs of at least 100 per cent on electric vehicles manufactured in China, after Washington announced similar tariffs last month. Ford accused Chinese manufacturers of taking “every advantage of low labour standards and dirty energy” to flood the market with artificially cheap electric vehicles.
