International students will be allowed to work 24 hours a week starting in September: CP
International students in Canada will be permitted to work for a maximum of 24 hours a week beginning in September. The Liberal government had waived the previous 20-hour cap in 2022 to help address labour shortages. As Nojoud Al Mallees of The Canadian Press reports that Immigration Minister Mark Miller called the new cap “reasonable,” and noted the purpose of the international student program is to study, not to work.
