TC Energy CEO says Canada can become top LNG supplier to Asia

TC Energy CEO François Poirier says Canada can lead global LNG exports to Asia but needs strong political backing, according to the Canadian Press. “We have the supply, we have a transportation cost advantage and the demand is there for the taking,” Poirier said Thursday. With the country’s first LNG terminal in Kitimat, B.C. set to launch this year, Poirier warned Canada is “playing catch up” to the U.S.
