What could a $5 billion government loan program do? Turn Indigenous communities into powerful investors: CBC

Indigenous leaders are praising a $5-billion loan program announced in the federal budget which they say could be “transformational” in drawing the type of investments to bring in stable sources of revenue. The program will guarantee loans that Indigenous communities can use to invest in resource development and energy projects. As the CBC’s James Dunne reports, Indigenous advocates and business leaders say the guarantees will be a massive economic driver for their communities.
