Former Bank of Canada governor Poloz to lead pension fund working group

Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland has tapped former central bank governor Stephen Poloz to look at ways to prod pension funds to invest more in Canada, Bloomberg News reports. Poloz will lead a “working group” to examine ways to get more capital into domestic investment opportunities, from housing development to infrastructure such as airports. Big public pension managers in Canada have few restrictions on where they can invest.
