Honda to build electric vehicles and battery plant in Ontario: CP sources

Industry Minister Francois-Philippe Champagne has been leading efforts to bring EV manufacturing to Canada.

Allison Jones of The Canadian Press reports that Honda Canada is set to build an electric vehicle battery plant near its auto manufacturing facility in Alliston, Ont., where it also plans to produce fully electric vehicles. Citing sources, the CP report said the federal and Ontario governments will make the announcement this week. No dollar figures about the announcement have been reported.
