Why the Conservatives and NDP are headed for a clash over Canada's working-class votes

Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre is targeting working class voters in rural and northern ridings, visiting shop floors and factories to go after turf long held by the NDP. Stephanie Taylor of The Canadian Press said the strategy is key to winning power for the Conservatives. But NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh’s principal secretary Anne McGrath called the approach simplistic, and said Conservatives have never shown up for working Canadians “when push comes to shove.”
